Plex Player Experience, Privacy Policy

Summary

Plex Player Experience runs entirely in your browser. It customizes Plex Web playback. It does not collect personal information, it does not send data to any server, it does not use analytics or ads.

Data we collect

We do not collect, track, or transmit personal data. The extension does not make network requests to a developer server. It does not use third party analytics or tracking pixels.

Data we do not collect

• No account information
• No viewing history or media titles
• No IP addresses or device identifiers
• No cookies or browsing history
• No usage telemetry, no crash analytics

What we store, locally

The extension stores only your preferences in chrome.storage, synced when available. This lives on your device, inside your browser profile. Keys include:

• nextDelay, your chosen next episode delay
• autoSkipIntro and autoSkipCredits, your skip toggles
• sleepEnabled and sleepMinutes, your sleep timer defaults
• sites, optional user supplied Plex origins, for example https://plex.mydomain.com/*

These values are used only to apply your settings on Plex Web. They are not shared outside your browser.

Host access on Plex Web

The content script runs on Plex Web pages. It reads the page DOM to locate the Up Next control, the Skip Intro or Skip Credits buttons, and the HTML5 <video> element, then applies your delay and sleep timer. No network interception, no scraping of your media library, no data export.

Optional host access for custom Plex origins

If you add a custom Plex domain or IP in Options, the extension requests that specific origin with chrome.permissions.request. Only the origin you approve is granted.

What we do not use

• No activeTab
• No programmatic injection with chrome.scripting
• No remote code, no eval, no third party CDNs

Sharing and transfers

We do not sell data, we do not share data, we do not transfer data to any third party. The extension has no server side component.

Plex is a separate service with its own policy. This extension does not modify your Plex account data. It only automates click actions on the Plex Web page that is already open in your browser.

Retention and control

Preferences remain until you remove them. You are in control.

• To remove all data, uninstall the extension, or visit chrome://settings/siteData then clear extension storage for this item
• To reset settings, open the extension Options and change values, then save

Because we do not collect personal data, requests for access or deletion of personal data are not applicable. If you still want help, contact us and we will provide guidance to clear local storage.

Children

The extension is a utility for Plex Web playback. It does not target children. It does not collect personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we store or how we use permissions, we will update this page. We will also update the Chrome Web Store listing with the new version and a summary of changes.
